Waiting….

It can be hard to have patience as an adult. As our family goes through an ordeal right now, some days seem to just drag by.

For a child, waiting can feel downright impossible.

My heart is for the children registered in the Compassion International child sponsorship program who wait weeks, months, over a year to be given the news that they are chosen.

Imagine how it might feel to be at the child development center on a Saturday morning, watching your friends receive news of sponsorship or letters from the families who have chosen them.  Imagine months passing without receiving the news that someone has chosen to take you under their wing and sponsor you.

Sponsor a Waiting Child from Compassion International on Vimeo.

While the child starts to receive help with education and health care as soon as they are registered, it is the connection with a sponsor that brings a while new level of self esteem and joy to the child.

As I look through the Compassion website on a weekly basis, I search and look through the children who have been labeled “longest waiting”. I look at faces and click on bios and pray over the children by name.

My heart is with those children who are wishing and hoping and waiting.

Will you join me in praying over these children? If so, please follow this link to view and lift up those that are still waiting.

Maybe the Lord is even calling you end the wait for one of these children today. If you sponsor a child now, you will receive a free Compassion scrap book! A praise report to share – the young man I shared on my last post was sponsored!!

(Full disclosure: Compassion is offering a gift certificate to their store to the three blogs that generate the most traffic and have the most click-throughs during the next week. If you’d like to help me win, please click this link. )

365 Days

One by one, days went by.

Days became weeks, weeks became months.

Strung together in a row of hope and anticipation, days turned into a year.

This handsome young man has been waiting one WHOLE year for a sponsor, as of today.

Eddy

Chances are, he has gone to visit his project wondering if the staff would give him the news that he has been chosen by a sponsor.  He has watched as his friends have gotten letters and maybe even birthday gifts.

But, Eddy is still waiting.  His birthday passed just a few weeks ago, no card from his sponsor family.

Perhaps, today will be the day Eddy’s wait will end.

A year is such a long time to wait, especially if you are a child.

Please take a minute and click his link to take a look and pray over him.  Maybe, with the click of a mouse, you can be the one to end Eddy’s long wait.

Long Time, No Post

Hello dear friends,

I have received many messages asking if I am ok.

Our family is currently embarking on something that requires a lot of my time and focus. I cannot share many details, but we are hoping to resolve a long-standing issue and bring our family back together once again.

We know that this will not be a short or easy journey, but we’re holding on to our faith in God and knowing that He is with us, even when we feel scared or worried.

In this situation, we are praying fervently that they truth is revealed, in so many ways.  Not just the truth about the situation concerning our family, but the Truth that is found in Jesus Christ.

No matter how this turns out, it is our hope and prayer that we are all brought closer to Him and that His name will be glorified.

Blogging will be sporadic at best during the coming months. I have not been visiting blogs, even those of my very dear friends. My ministry is focused at home, preparing as we need to, praying and caring for my family here at home.

Your prayers are always welcome and appreciated. Your support and emails are treasured.  I apologize if my replies come slow or not at all.

I am reading through Ephesians 5 daily and finding comfort in the words.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord.  Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.

We are going to walk this journey with our minds on speaking the truth and being the light.

Thank you for your support!
