Outside my window… My view of our back yard and back deck is rather gray and drab except for the sight of chickadees and other feathered friends having lunch.
Around the house… Beside me, the dishwasher hums, drowning out the sound of Christmas carols on the radio. My girls are happily chattering at the dining room table, working on cards for the seniors we will be visiting tomorrow.
On the agenda… I’m working on handwritten letters to our Compassion children again today. I end up doing just a couple a day in between bursts of housework.
Tomorrow, the girls and I are going to be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army kettle in the morning and then joining our friends for some caroling at a nearby senior center.
I am inspired by… the recent 26 Acts of Kindness movement that is happening right now. As someone who really struggles with processing the tragedy of the shooting in Connecticut last week, this has been a bit of news that I’ve been happy to read. If you would like to participate or learn more, you can visit the 26 Acts Facebook page. If you are not on Facebook, this article also shares details. It is heartwarming to see all of the ways that people are reaching out and doing good in the face of this unspeakable incident.
Will you participate in this 26 Acts of Kindness movement? Do you have any specific things you hope to do to in honor of this nation-wide expression of giving? If so, please share!
