Today’s successes… It was our monthly visit to the senior center and like usual, I spent the morning worrying about how many people would actually come. The residents of the center flock to the activities and it is hard to spread ourselves around enough and mingle when we don’t have a big group of visitors. As of this morning, it looked like it was going to be just 2-3 families and I started to get anxious. I turned to prayer, asking for calm to wash over me and the ability to make the best of it, no matter how many people showed up. I was thrilled that we actually had one of our largest turn-outs ever! One of our friends even brought their terrier as a therapy dog, and he was a huge hit! I can’t explain how great it feels to be able to reach out, hold those aged hands and talk with the ladies at the center. Their appreciation and enjoyment is evident, their faces light up. I am a bit disappointed that I held back when opportunities to share the Good News came, but I am going to keep that in prayer. Next month, we will meet for the baking and decorating of Valentine’s cookies. I plan to make some cards with God is Love and John 3:16 to hand out.
Today’s failures… despite a really good track record this week, I didn’t get to any sort of workout today. Amazing how I can feel the difference in my energy levels from just missing one day!
A photo from this morning…
I needed a snowy Winter picture for the letters I plan to write tomorrow to our Compassion International children. I love how I can upload pictures to Walgreens and pick them up 20 minutes later! (If you have some photos you need developed, Walgreens prints will be 50% off through Saturday if you use the code “FROSTY50”.)
Last, but not least, a new song from Fransesca Battistelli. I heard it for the first time this morning and love it.
