The week in review

It has been a great week, I always feel so alive as Spring takes over. Last Sunday, we met up with my Mom, my sis and her family and went rollerskating. It was so much fun! I wish the RollerDome was closer because I'd love to go there more often! I did fall once while trying to help Luna and my poor knee is still black and blue. After 30 minutes at the rink, Miss Independent Luna wanted no part of holding hands anymore and was skating all by herself. I couldn't even coax her off the floor by tempting her with a snack, which blew my mind. The girl is *always* hungry.

Monday was a stay-at-home day. Did some homeschooling with Kaya and the usual Domestic Goddess duties.

Tuesday is such a fun day, it is when we have our homeschool co-op. There are about 16 kids, including the toddlers and we gather from 9 to 1:30 or 2. I teach art, which is a lot of fun. I need to come up with some good ideas for upcoming classes, though. I think we will be doing wood-block prints next week.

Wednesday we came to town again to drop off some of the food we have collected for the Open Cupboard, a quick trip to the library and a walk around town.

Yesterday we got Nico again. I am so thankful to have all of this tinme with her again and can barely remember the agony our family went through when we were fighting for just a couple of days a week with her. I think back now to when the custody battle was going on and people would tell us this would all work out for the best. It would make me so mad inside, thinking that they were wrong and life would never be the same. Now, things have never been better and I know I should have just had faith that God had a greater plan for all of us. :sigh of contentment:

Today we came down to the library for Story Time and I get a little time to use the computer before the program starts. Nico and Kaya do some of their homeschooling upstairs while I take Luna down to be with the little kids. Afterwards, we have a few errands to run in town and because it is supposed to be a beautiful day, we may take a little walk before we head home.

Not a lot planned for the weekend besides church on Sunday. I need to rearrange one of the spare rooms because on Tuesday I am getting a sewing machine! Woohoo! The Pastor at the church where we have our co-op over heard me asking another Mom there about sewing machines and he told me he had been needing to get theirs out of their bedroom. Ask and ye shall receive, huh? I can't wait to start sewing again and my girls really want to make some doll clothes. Because Nico and Kaya have been really into Little House on the Prarie again, I need to find a pattern for prarie dresses and bonnets.

Well, Story time will be starting soon, so I need to go. Hope everyone has a great week!!

Welcome, Spring!

Well, we woke this morning to a fine dusting of snow covering everything including the bright golden crocuses in the yard. I am not discouraged, though. Spring is coming and I am ready!

The temps over the last week have been lovely and my girlies have been having fun hiking the trails on our property and playing in our gullies. It has been wonderful to get outside without many bulky layers, soak in the sun and fresh air and watch the earth come alive again.

I don't have a lot of time to update and *really* wish I could upload pics but I am checking in from the library and there's no way to connect the camera. I need to do some research on a few things for the homeschool co-op. I am heading up the year book and need to find a good place to have one printed up. I am also the art teacher and need to find some ideas for fun projects for the kids.

I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to touch base again within the coming weeks. Happy Spring!!! :)

I did it!

After an hour of trying, I finally remembered my login info! Woohoo! It has been months since I have been online and I really miss all of my online buddies. We are having an issue with the only internet carrier available to us and have no other options for access which is a bummer. While I get to jonesin' for the net, our lives have been blessed in many ways for the lack of internet in the household. I was really spending more time than I would like to admit reading message boards and blogs and my relationships all suffered from it. Since we lost the net, my bonds with my family are stronger and I have also managed to hook up with an AWESOME group of homeschooling Moms locally. What a blessing it has been.

We are all happy and healthy. Things are so much better with our relationship with Nico's Mom and she is back to being with us more. Kaya is just her happy, bouncy self and our "baby" Luna is no longer nursing or wearing diapers. :sniff sniff: Jay cut his dreads off in November and I never realized how much I would love his new do, but he looks as fine as ever. He is working on some cabinet work and is able to be home much of the time, working down in his woodshop. We all love having him home.

I know I owe a few people from Amity's some beadwork and no longer have the contact info for those, so if you are one of those MAmas, please contact me via snail mail or phone (Nancy, Gretchen and Nicole have my info) and I will make sure you get what you have coming to you. My apologies on that but we lost net without much warning and hotmail wiped out my whole inbox.

Anyway, my time at the library is about up and I need to head out. I hope to try to update every once in a while and would really love to keep in touch with my online buddies.

Lots of love,

Michelle and the Wright family
